"No!" The reply came out as a near shout, far too quick for it to still seem natural. Because it wasn't natural at all, it was a fierce and almost instinctive denial. She didn't want him to go out and fight for her, not on his own, not again witches. Fighting alongside him.. she had done that before, and she knew his fighting skills were good, but she still didn't want to let him take on any risk by himself, she felt much too protective over him to let him do that. Besides, she was bad enough at asking help in general - that much was right, they were exactly the same in that way.

She cleared her throat, trying to compromise for the earlier yell but it was all no use. "I-- I'm fine, okay? You don't need to go out and do anything for me, since there's nothing special up."

But of course words alone weren't going to make him trust her on this. She would have to show her Soul Gem, and show it was shining-- god, that was practically impossible like this though. But she had to try, it was the only way to get his mind off this ridiculous plan. "Look, you'll see." She held out her hand with the ring again, and with a blob of red light her Soul Gem appeared. Kyouko grit her teeth, trying to focus on it the best she could and.. yes, it started glowing with a very bright red light, to her relief.

... But only a few moments later, the glow died down just as soon as it had started, and it was almost as if black clouds were swirling through the gem. It was showing its actual state now.
