Amakusa and Ange had found themselves at the boathouse, and soon their journey would be over. By that, he was referring to what he was supposed to do once they arrived, but he wasn't about to go through with that mission. He was meant to be a traitor, he was meant to kill her once they arrived- and eve back in the fourth game he was the one who went through with such a thing. Was he just supposed to ensure she never lived past that day...? What a joke, what horrible furniture he was made out to be.
He was never good at following the rules though, he had fallen in love with his client- with someone he was meant to murder, and after that he would report back to the theater going witches. They liked seeing Ange suffer, so if they knew they had these feelings for one another, then that would only make things worse. They might even be pit against each other, forced to destroy the other.
As he mused to himself, he stared out at the waves of the ocean that still rose and fell near the shore he was standing at. It was a good feeling to be out here and not in there, if he was out here- it was like nothing else existed, that he wasn't meant to merely kill her. No, he wanted to stop thinking about that, and he wanted to tell her.
He wanted to tell her he was just furniture, that he was just a demonic servant- and then they would make that contract that was never fulfilled. A kiss that would contain so much more than just sealing the deal between master and familiar.

"I'm not going anywhere..." as he said this, he moved back a bit so he was kneeling down- still slightly over top of her. He had grabbed her arms and pulled her up with him, into a sitting position at least. He was looking at her, just seeing what was in her expression- if there was any indication in her eyes that she was still afraid of him.
He reached out to her, placing a hand on the side of her cheek, his thumb gently stroking her. They were still covered in blood- him especially, but he hardly cared... he just wanted to be here with her.
"...You're not... afraid of me are you?" if she were, that would crush him more than anything.

But instead she just sat there, staring at him as he touched her cheek like that. Even if the tears had stopped, the feeling behind them hadn't completely left her yet. There was still something more sad and broken in her eyes, that which was always there behind her deadpan but she never showed. But, his question..
"... No. I'm not afraid of you." It was the truth. She was afraid, but.. not of him, not of the person sitting in front of her. What she was afraid of was maybe just his other form instead - she wasn't sure if she would be able seeing him as a wolf again after this, even if it wasn't meant in such a harmful way as it had been just now. Ange moved up her own hand to put it over his' while it was still on the side of her face. She didn't plan to say all she was thinking about, but suddenly the words flowed out, as if any filter of sorts was gone by now. "Just.. please, don't change.. Stay who you are now."

Slowly, he nodded, looking into her eyes and seeing fear reflected back. He had scared her beyond belief, making her cry even- and that was something he would always regret. "...Yeah, I'll stay this way Ange," he still didn't bring those honorifics back.
After a moment, Amakusa tensed up- feeling that familiar presence of a witch. She was coming, that much was evident. Amakusa just narrowed his eyes and then stood up, turning around with Ange still sitting behind him. There was suddenly a clapping sound that filled the halls, and the silver-haired man wasn't deterred by this at all.
"Bravo, you made it out alive and...." Bernkastel glanced around at the blood coating the walls and staining the ground, "....you redecorated."

She had to be strong now, so Ange quickly forced herself to her feet as well, even if she still felt like her legs were made out of jelly, nearly making her wobble as she stood. The girl tried to force her usual deadpan expression, but it was so hard that.. after a moment of hesitation, she just grabbed the man's hand instead, even if she was still slightly standing behind him. Even if he had scared her, she still loved him more than anything and with the way she was feeling right now, not strong at all, she just wanted to rely on him and borrow his strength like this. She squeezed Amakusa's hand a little before she finally managed to force something on her face that didn't make it seem like she had been completely miserable just now.
"Very funny." Her voice was tight, and still slightly softer than usual. She really didn't have the patience to deal with Bernkastel right now.. "Any more jokes?"

He then felt her reach out and grab his hand, and it was a good thing too- that feeling of her being here as well served as a strong reminder that he had to hold it together. Amakusa continued to glare at the witch in question- wanting her gone more than anything. He was tired... he really was, and if she was going to throw them into yet another trial, he wasn't ready for it. So he clenched his teeth, his jaw tightening as his eyes narrowed.
Bernkastel on the other hold... was both amused and bored with these toys. She was entertained by the fact that they had gotten out of one of her precious fragments, but at the same time that annoyed her. They were supposed to perish down there- but was their 'love' really so powerful...? She let out a laugh, the thought of love was funny to her, and after Battler's stupid game, it was even more hilarious.
"Congratulations are in order I guess," she smirked and walked a bit closer to them, "Ange, I'm going to keep my word this time. Why?" a frown filled her features now, "because you're a worthless piece that deserves nothing more than to become a hamburger for all eternity.... so why not let you suffer but... at the hands of this servant of yours."
She giggled again, pointing at Amakusa, "you saw it, you saw that thirst he has for blood. Shame really- he could have made much better furniture by my side with that kind of hunger. Oh well..." she stretched out her hand and a fragment appeared, a jagged diamond-like shape in her hand. She wondered if Ange would ask her about what she meant when she said she'll suffer at the hands of Amakusa, but like hell she'd tell her.

But there was no way that was true, right? If she would get out of here, she could just live happily together with Amakusa, with the guy she loved, without having to worry about getting hurt or anything else.. Yeah, the witch was just obviously trying to mess with her mind again, so why did she suddenly feel so scared, almost frozen stiff, at those words? These was nothing - the view of eyes lusting for blood - that could go wrong if they - that claw hanging above her - were just together, so..
... Ah, why was that image she had been so frightened of, the moment when she thought she would just die there, so hard to put out of her mind?
Her grip on Amakusa's hand loosened just slightly, almost subconsciously. "What do you mean.. suffering at his hands? At least tell me that, Bernkastel..!"

Amakusa on the other hand, knew exactly what she was trying to do here. Yes, she was trying to get Ange even more scared of him- even if they were in a world where neither of them died, Ange would eventually fall apart and want nothing to do with him. They were furniture and master now, so if that time came he would... have to stand off to the side, in the shadows, and merely be the discarded piece she would rather get rid of.
He noticed her grip loosen, and that made him glance back at her. He still said nothing however, he just stared in her blue eyes- searching for anything, trying to see if she was still... afraid of him. She said she wasn't but, words and actions are two different things. After a moment, his gaze fell to the floor and he turned to look back at Bernkastel.
After a small laugh escaped the witch's lips, she crushed that fragment and a blinding light enveloped them all. When the two of them open their eyes, they'll be back in her mansion- no where near Rokkenjima, and Amakusa's clothes are back to what he normally wears.

Ange couldn't even say anything, not even when they found themselves back in a more familiar place. The witch had kept her promise and sent them back to a happy fragment, happier than the one the came from, one where they could apparently just stay together, but.. was that just so the witch could watch from somewhere how he would hurt her? Her chest felt tight with the anxiety and paranoia. She still loved the man, of course she did. More than anything she wanted to stay with him and become happy together, but.. was that really possible now? Had Bernkastel been right about what she had said?
She was so caught up in her thoughts that she didn't even move from where she was standing the moment they appeared there, nor did she say anything - she just quietly stared in front of her into the distance, trying to get herself a bit more composed again but it was difficult.

Amakusa sighed, and then turned around to look at her. He stared at her for a moment and then reached out to her, grabbing her and pulling her in for a hug. He too didn't say anything to her for a moment, and when he spoke up he felt as though his throat had closed. This was difficult- but he would get through it with her.
"Okay lady, listen up... whatever that witch said, don't listen to it. She's just trying to mess with your head. I lost control once, that was... well, it was because I had never allowed myself to actually devour anyone but... ah... I got a little too angry at how that guy was all over you. I guess overprotective isn't even a strong enough way of wording how angry I was...."

"No, I.. understand." Her gaze still was a little dejected though even as she talked. It was true though, it was only natural that he would get mad at seeing that copy of her older brother trying to molest her right in front of him. Even though it had always been so hard to just speak to him honestly, the tsundere part of her tending to take over, she knew she at least had to try her best and be honest now, more than any other moment.
"I'm just scared that.. maybe she knows, maybe it'll happen again or something like that, because something else that threatens us will appear again for some reason so you'll have to transform again and.." For a moment she paused again, swallowing, and she averted her gaze a little. "What if you'd kill me..? What would you do?" She didn't mind dying all that much, since as long as she couldn't be together with him there was nothing else left in this world for her either way, no chance for a happy life. But if there was still a chance for the two of them to live happily instead, then.. she just didn't want that to be thrown away.

"What would I do...?" what a silly question, it really was so obious0 at leas he thought so. "Declare war on the witches and hope they end my life. As furniture, I can't exactly commit suicide, so I'd have to go out of my way to be killed. I can't live without you now that you've... been in my life for so long lady. I've been watching over you since you were a kid."
He paused, and then smiled at her, he hadn't smiled at her for a while but he was able to bring it back, "I love you."

Yes, the least she could do was at least offer him that second chance. Even if it would eventually somehow end up with her being hurt again.. then that would just be it. She would just have to accept that being the end, the point where they couldn't be happy together.
But for now, if there was still a chance, still a dream.. Ange stared at his usual smile, much more like what she was used of from him, and let out a deep breath, almost as if she was annoyed again. But actually it almost sounded amused more than anything. "I love you too.." This time she clearly had more difficulty with it. Last time it had been so instinctive to call him by his first name, since it had been needed to bring him back, but.. now when it wasn't required, it was much more difficult to push herself to do it. Still, even if a blush appeared on her face, she did her best to force it out. "J--.. Juuza."
At least for a while more.. they could stay like this. For as long as they had the chance to be happy.
