[ It's a good thing it's not a scary movie, Kotomi might be crying and shaking and near-fainting during those.. But she does like comedies, even if her sense of humor is.. odd, to say the least. But it's nice to sit here together on the couch with Battler, it's unlike anything she has done in a long time.. And with the rain outside it only makes the atmosphere more cozy. ]

Oh..? Battler-kun really, really likes this part? [ Blankly glancing over at him.. ]

[He nods, not looking away from the screen. Insert some funny scenario here. And Battler bursts out laughing. Even though he had seen this many times, he still can't help but laugh at the idiocy...

Battler looks over at her.]

Are you cold or anything Kotomi-chan? You need a blanket?

[ She's just blankly staring, what is getting normal humor.. But then again, to her staring at him is just as much fun as looking at the movie, really. Especially since he seems to be having so much fun just from watching..

The question makes her ponder it for a few moments, and she can't help but shiver a little - that's enough to make her decide and nod weakly. ]

That'd be nice.. But it's not too much of a bother for Battler-kun to get one, right..?

[Battler can have a goddamn party by himself, really.

And with that he stands up rather quickly! He shakes his head at her.]

Not at all! [he places a hand on his own chest and bows to her rather dramatically.] For you m'lady I'll return with our finest blanket!

[he stands up straight again, grinning, and he quickly turns and goes to grab a blanket. As he walks down the hall he ponders to himself for a moment... should he grab two separate ones or...? No no, this is his chance, definitely! An opportunity to snuggle with Kotomi! Aahh, he's grinning so badly here! He grabs a blanket from a hallway closet and soon comes trotting back. He flops down on the couch and moves the blanket so it's on top of both of them.]

Better?

[ She only.. blinks to his whole display there, really. Is he some butler of some sort now?! Or a knight?! But before she can ask him about it, he's already gone, so she just remains there in more or less exactly the same pose, still thinking about it..

Until he comes back with the blanket, sitting down next to her with the blanket on them.. Ah, it's warm, definitely warm, but she can't help but wonder something all the same. ]

... We're sharing? [ It's not said like a bad thing, really-- more just curious. ]

[Ah- he just pauses at that... he couldn't really read her as much as other people, she just always had that blank stare- off in her own little world. He wondered if this really was too much, if he was pushing it.]

U...um.... is that ....bad?

[ Remain in suspense for a few moments more, Battler, since she doesn't immediately answer, just stare..

But then she shakes her head lightly. ]

No. If it's Battler-kun.. then I don't mind. [ She's also horrible at realising how her words could be interpreted.. ]

[Oh.

Oh.

I-diot! If you say things like that it sounds weird! Battler just stares at her for a second, and then he feels his face heat up. He has to clear his throat and scratch the back of his head- trying to just calm down from that.]

A-ah! Oh that's good! I don't want things to be weird or anything.

[He turns and looks back at the screen.... just keep looking at the movie Battler.....]

[ Yes, just keep looking while she goes and makes it worse..

Since Kotomi definitely is still staring at him rather than the movie.. Just quietly, but staring all the same. And after a minute or two she actually speaks up, in the same blank tone as usual, as if she's just stating a fact. ]

Battler-kun's face is a little red..

[SDJKBFSDJKFS Battler turns to look at her, his face growing even more red. What ....?! Why is she staring at him?!]

I'm just....! I just love this movie so much, yeah! Yeah! S-so make sure you pay close attention to it!

[distractions... tosses out all the distractions...]

[ Distractions don't help with someone who doesn't know at all how to pick up on social cues, okay. Hence why she's still not paying attention to the movie, but instead raises her hand out from under the blanket to put it on his forehead.. ]

... Hmm.. I don't think Battler-kun has a fever..

[Oh god- MAYDAY! SOMEONE! ....A...ANYONE! Isn't this where someone is supposed to walk in and see this and misunderstand?! Th-that's supposed to happen! Dammit...! They were home alone after all, so that was impossible.

Battler swallows, taking in a deep breath. He brings his hand up to his head and grabs her wrist, pulling her hand away from him.]

I-I'm fine, okay? Really, there's nothing wrong....! [just when he's so close to her he can't help but feel his face heat up and his heartbeat pick up... dammit! Damn women and their X chromosomes!]

[ She almost looks a little curious or surprised when he grabs her wrist like that, why is he moving it away, she was just feeling to see if his forehead was hot, since that'd mean his face would be red because of a fever.. Even Kotomi can understand something strange is going on here, except since it's Kotomi she has no clue what, even though it should be obvious to any other person. ]

Nothing at all..? But Battler-kun seems a little tense.

[Kehh...... he really wished she was able to pick up on social situations like this. He wanted it to be left alone for now, he didn't just... want to tell her that he has feelings for her, just when they're watching a movie together since it's raining out.

But no, he tells himself to relax so he does. He takes a deep breath and that blush seems to fade.]

No really, I'm perfectly fine.

[ More.. staring..

But after a few good moments she nods. He does seem okay now, right? His face isn't as red anymore, and he's not doing that half-yelling thing he sometimes does.. So it's good, Battler is fine, everything is okay.

So Kotomi settles down a bit more again to watch the movie again, no longer staring at him. They're sitting pretty close together under the blanket though..!! ]

[...Actually he wonders something. Yeah, they're sitting pretty close under the blankets, so he's pondering and thinking if it would be okay to at least hold her hand. Really, he had no clue if she even liked him like that, but he wanted to test that out just to make sure. Battler was a pretty social person, and always has been known for being a big pervert as well but.... he was always that hopeless romantic at heart.

He moved his hand under the blankets, and he found her arm. His fingers moved down her arm until they were at her wrist again. His fingertips lightly touched at her hand, and he worked up the courage- grabbing her hand and holding it.]

[ Maybe she doesn't even realise it at first, since Kotomi doesn't even react, she just continues staring at the movie. Or maybe it's enough to wonder for Battler if she minds or not, but.. slowly but surely she does seem to notice there's suddenly something holding her hand, and that something feels a suspicious lot like another hand, and there could only be one person that hand could belong to..

Ah, he's holding hands with her, isn't he..? It's strange, not something she's really done much before, but it feels.. nice. She turns her head towards him, expression surprised, but she's not saying anything yet since she doesn't know what to say. It takes moments for the words to even come. ]

Battler-kun.. that's.. my hand. [ Maybe he tried to grab something there and missed?! ]

[Oh boy, she was so oblivious.... beyond oblivious. She didn't even know how to hug and now she doesn't understand the implications of hand holding. Even so he doesn't let go, he even squeezes her hand slightly and just turns back to the movie.]

Yeah, and that's my hand. [a sarcastic remark, really, but he's smiling to himself, content that he at least did this much. He was always one to make advances at the other girls but- dammit why was it so hard to muster up the courage to confess to Kotomi of all people? Maybe it was because she just didn't get most of it....]

[ Good thing sarcasm - and even the general intent behind sarcasm - completely goes over her head. But he's not letting go, so.. he meant to hold her hand? But why did he want to hold her hand? Is it just like that time he was hugging her and she had to hug back, then.. in this case, all she has to do is hold his hand as well? Does it work like that?!

There's so many questions, but.. somehow it doesn't feel appropriate to ask them right now, not even for Kotomi. It's almost as if there's.. some kind of mood.. and Battler isn't complaining about it so far, so it should be okay, right?

For a few moments she returns to watching the movie too, but-- ]

... Does Battler-kun maybe need another hug? Is that it..? [ Yes, she'll remain completely oblivious if it's not more direct. ]

[He sighs. Yeah, yeah.... he needs to be more bold like he always is, he needs to just shout it out that he likes her, apparently. Dammit, he seemed to always like the weird ones... not like it was a bad thing that she was so different, maybe that's why he was drawn to her.

Battler reaches for the remote, turning off the TV for the time being. Sorry, he needs full attention for this kind of thing.]

Kotomi-chan. [He turns to look at her, not letting go of her hand just yet.] There's something I need to tell you. And it's... just difficult since I have no clue what you're feeling back but-.... okay here goes.

[A pause....] I like you. And not in the friends kind of way, I like you in that sense that.... well, I want to be closer to you. [if you catch his drift- WHICH SHE PROBABLY WON'T.]

[ She barely even notices the TV being turned off, she was already more focused on him than on the movie itself either way - the movie mattered little more than the sound of the raindrops on the window.

But then she listens to whath he's saying, and.. huh..? He likes her, but not in the friends kind of way? Are there that many other kinds of liking that she knows nothing about? Ah-- wait, she has the answer!! ]

... Okay.

[ Just blankly saying it as always, even nodding a little.. and then she scoots over to him under the blanket, covering the last distance between both of them, still not letting go of his hand either. She's practically leaning against his shoulder now.. ]

Then.. this is close enough for Battler-kun to like..? [ yes, she's totally missing the point. ]

[.....Hah....?! A.....ah.....?! S...seriously....?! Okay- for someone that still doesn't get Kotomi's tsukkomi acts, this is actually hilarious. Literally taking what he said and applying it to the situation.]

Ahaha.... ihihihi! K-...Kotomi-chan, you're too much!

[Okay, he might have needed that, he was a little too nervous to say this kind of stuff before, but now he can do it. He lets go of her hand, and he grabs both of her shoulders, making her look at him.]

I like you as in.... boyfriend and girlfriend.... you know, lovers. And I just want to know how you feel about me.

[ It wasn't good enough either, was it? All of this is so strange, so she just listens to what he says next, even though she doesn't have much of a choice with how he's making her directly look at him..

But then he says.. 'boyfriend and girlfriend'.. 'lovers'.. Sure, she's read enough about that before in books, but to have someone say it to her, to have Battler say it to her-- ]

[ ... Ah. He's.. saying that sort of thing, isn't he.. ]

[ Battler-kun likes her.. ]
