Amakusa and Ange had found themselves at the boathouse, and soon their journey would be over. By that, he was referring to what he was supposed to do once they arrived, but he wasn't about to go through with that mission. He was meant to be a traitor, he was meant to kill her once they arrived- and eve back in the fourth game he was the one who went through with such a thing. Was he just supposed to ensure she never lived past that day...? What a joke, what horrible furniture he was made out to be.

He was never good at following the rules though, he had fallen in love with his client- with someone he was meant to murder, and after that he would report back to the theater going witches. They liked seeing Ange suffer, so if they knew they had these feelings for one another, then that would only make things worse. They might even be pit against each other, forced to destroy the other.

As he mused to himself, he stared out at the waves of the ocean that still rose and fell near the shore he was standing at. It was a good feeling to be out here and not in there, if he was out here- it was like nothing else existed, that he wasn't meant to merely kill her. No, he wanted to stop thinking about that, and he wanted to tell her.

He wanted to tell her he was just furniture, that he was just a demonic servant- and then they would make that contract that was never fulfilled. A kiss that would contain so much more than just sealing the deal between master and familiar.

Still cocky, even like this - she had been right earlier, this guy seriously never changed, no matter the form. There was first a moment where Ange watched as he ran off that fast, going at the angel with his summoned big pistols. Yes, this was the moment where she had to go and back him up. Even if she wasn't strong, or couldn't use any magic that was too impressive.. there was something even she could do, even if it was just summoning the sisters.

She put out her hands to the side. "Come, arise and forgive the sin.. the seven sisters of Purgatory!" Soon she felt the familiar magic surging through her, almost like some adrenaline boost, and one by one they appeared in the air, giggling all the same even though they were in a place like this. Ange glanced over towards them, yelling out a command. "Come on and get that thing..!" It didn't take long for the sisters to follow up, changing into their stake forms before hurling themselves towards the angel, intending to gouge him wherever they could to keep it further distracted from what Amakusa was doing. It was no problem for them, after all, since thye could easily fly around even towards where the angel was.

Ange noticed the fireballs just in time, barely jumping out of the way of the first one heading her way. At least she was fairly nimble, so while avoiding them was a pain, it wasn't impossible. At the very least she could avoid them on her own so Amakusa could focus on fighting - she glanced over towards the angel, where the stakes were already at work.

Ange was just keeping an eye on the battle, making sure both the sisters and Amakusa were still alright during it, but then at a certain point.. the Angel came towards her. And Ange saw it too late - not that she could have reacted in time, with how fast it was going, and all she had was ordinary human speed. The moment she saw him swinging that hammer, going down towards her, she thought it would all be over. Would it already end here, this soon, with her being beaten to a bloody pulp, but--

Then there was nothing, no impact of the hammer, and when she looked again she saw Amakusa standing there instead, blocking the hammer's path with his sniper. He must have used his above human speed to run over and save her, but.. even she could notice he wouldn't be able to keep this up forever, so after getting over her initial surprise she quickly nodded. If she could just distract that angel again, Amakusa could win in the battle again the hammer at least, so..

She didn't even have to say it this time, her desire to help Amakusa out here had enough burning intensity to make the stakes move on their own once she glanced at them. The seven of them started to work together, trying to gouge the angel's back and arms as he was too focused on trying to bring the hammer down.

She could see that Amakusa had gained quite some strength too, swinging that hammer around like that to beat up the angel with. And then he turned to her, smiling of all things at a moment like this - only a guy like him would do something like that right now. Not that the situation wasn't worthy of that smile, considering the two of them had practically won against this thing already with their combined powers.

"Since you asked so nicely." Her voice was finally back more to her usual deadpan, but there was almost something slightly amused in it, maybe his victorious smile was just a little contagious. She shifted her gaze to the angel in the distance instead, making the sisters fly over there. And after one movement of her hand, her gaze somewhat cold, the sisters dropped to slam themselves as stakes into him - a few into the place where his heart should be, and another few right into his head.

"Yeah.. I'm fine." Maybe a little shook up by the sudden attack and battle at first, but she was fine now. She hadn't gotten too hurt in all of it, either way, since she had mostly been avoiding the fireballs and aside from that she hadn't really come into close contact with a thing. She let out a slight sigh and the sisters faded away in golden butterflies - it did cost some effort to keep them up, after all, and she would rather not waste it all on a time when there weren't even monsters around.

Because of this battle she had seen Amakusa's strength now though, and.. well, he definitely was much stronger and quicker than he had ever been as a human, even though he had already been an impressive bodyguard to start with, one of the best around. Ange couldn't help but feel glad he was at least here with her, rather than her having to face this alone.

She straightened her hair a little again. "You too? I think Bernkastel will only have more stuff like that waiting for us along the way." She wasn't going to make it easy on them, after all.

Although it wasn't as bad as before, her face did flush up again slightly at his touch, kiss, and then those words. As long as she was okay.. that was fine, of course he was her furniture, he would want to protect her, but.. she wanted at least him to be okay as well. But with the kind of powers she had seen out of him so far, hopefully that shouldn't be a problem. After all, she was the more fragile one here, like a human, especially compared to him.

At least Ange managed to shake off the blush as they started walking again. Slowly the scenery was at least growing on her a bit, enough to change from how she was frightened to just being regularly uncomfortable. She squeezed his hand a little though as they walked while holding hands, and moved her head a little to look at him. "It's okay. We can at least.. get through this together, right?" As long as they'd work together, stayed together - ah, this was a lovers' trial, after all. At the very least she could show that witch that her love for him went much beyond her stupid little plans.

It almost felt like there was going to be no end to this place with how much they kept walking, and.. to be honest, Ange wouldn't put that past Bernkastel, to give them false hope on an exit that wasn't even there to start with. But at least then they arrived at the wall, which was already a relief in itself since it meant there was still some chance left. Even if that chance involved climbing up that really high steep wall.

At the suggestion she first blinked a bit cluelessly before getting embarassed again. Why would she have to go on his back, surely she could climb by herself, getting all close to him like that would be-- ... ah, but he was right, compared to his strength and endurance hers couldn't be compared. What if she would get tired halfway through and fell? Then the embarassment in holding on to him was a small sacrifice compared to that.

"Of course I can do something like that." There was almost something pouty in the way she said it out of embarassment, but she quickly shook her head to herself. They had already kissed before, so holding on to him would be nothing strange, right? She just had to keep telling herself that. "As long as you just focus on climbing, I'll hold on to you no matter what."

Wrapping her legs around him-- at those words she immediately regretted that she agreed to it, it was only getting more and more embarassing for her. But she knew it was the only option to get up, considering he would never let her climb up on her own since it would be too dangerous and.. ordering him to let her climb up on her own just didn't feel right. So the only choice was to do as he said, and cling on that close to him.. ah, she already felt her face getting warmer again, but she grit her teeth to try and force the feeling down. Just focus on the necessity of it all, just that..

Ange stepped over to him, before wrapping her arms around him first - that part wasn't too bad yet, she could deal with that - but then as he moved up from crouching down again she wrapped her legs around him too, almost clinging to him like some sort of koala now. Sure, it still wasn't the most secure position, but she felt like she could at least manage to hold on enough to cover the way up like this. The only problem left was the embarassment about clinging this close to him (and yes, her chest was pressed against his back). For a moment she buried her face against his back, so he at least wouldn't have the satisfaction of her making embarassed faces as he would probably crack a lame joke sooner or later about all of this.

Oh, she was mentally cursing at him, and that only increased when he spoke up while climbing and just had to mention something like that. But even she knew that she couldn't full-out tsundere as usual, not while he was climbing, or they might fall. And the last thing she wanted them to fall over was something this ridiculous. Yet.. she didn't just want to let him get away with saying something embarassing like that either.

"Don't make me order you to shut up." Her face was furiously red though, and she once again attempted to hide it a little against his back - even though he wouldn't be able to see it for the most part like this either way, and there was nobody else around to see. It was more out of habit than anything else, she just didn't want to be seen all embarassed and vulnerable like this. Not that she would really order him to shut up, though, that would make things much more difficult to bear in this kind of place.

She removed her face from the back of his coat again to speak up after he was done laughing to himself and talking. Ange didn't even notice him being extremely quiet though, considering she spoke up just after that, so she had no clue about all of the things he was thinking about. Instead she was just trying her best to use her usual deadpan tone as she kept holding on to him like that.

"What a surprise, my chest grew. It's not like that happens to girls all the time when they go from their single digits to eighteen, obviously." There, at least she sounded deadpan and sarcastic rather than fully embarassed - totally worth to be proud to herself over. She just talked on, not realising what the guy was thinking about. "What, do you maybe prefer the younger me?"

"... Huh?" Ange was too focused on his question either way to look down, her tsun already having slowly faded away. Instead she was holding onto him, blankly thinking about his question. Furniture aging differently.. of course, those witches and furniture she had met never aged. Some of them were thousands of years old and still looked young, but.. she knew she wasn't like that, she was more human than anything else, so she would just age like any other person.

But that would make his question actually be more relevant the other way around, right? Would he still want to be like her if it was like that, even though she would turn into a granny while he still looked young, and even though she would die much before he ever would, if he even would to start with..

"We already made that pact, right? From that moment on, I couldn't have anymore regrets, so.. of course. I want to stay with you no matter what." Because she couldn't imagine it any other way.

She didn't quite have his strength or endurance, so.. yes, Ange was sure that if she had been climbing by herself, she surely would have been too exhausted to continue and would have fallen down already. Amakusa's abilities were impressive that he could climb this far up without seeming exhausted in the slightest, but Ange was just human, so she was already starting to feel the wear on her arms and legs from having to hold on to him to fight against gravity. But still, when he said he was determined to get through this trial to be with her.. she couldn't give up either, and she knew it. And if there was one thing she knew she was, it was stupidly stubborn.

So even though she was starting to feel a bit exhausted already, she instead just clung a bit tighter to him then he finished talking, resting her head against his back. "... Thanks, Amakusa." Her voice was a bit softer, genuinely thankful. Ange even smiled to herself a little. If only they could make it out here like this, and somehow still get that promise of a happy ending from Bernkastel, even if it had probably just been a lie.. If she could live happily with him after this, just the two of them, it would be different from the past, from all her pain, the longing for her family. Instead she would move on to a happier future.

"I'll try my best for that too."

Somehow this kind of falling was much different than last time. Ange could still vividly remember the sensation from when she had fallen off that skyscraper on that day that felt so long ago now. It had almost been serene, like something natural, like she hadn't been falling but rather flying, floating in the air. But this time, once she felt her lose her grip on Amakusa and stumble through the air, instead of that peaceful resigned feeling there was only shock. And she felt her heart sink almost into her stomach, but-- that's when she felt his hand. She made sure to hold onto it tightly, since it was the only think standing between her and that fall, that practically meant a certain death from this height.

Her breathing was somewhat uneven from the surprise as she peered up, to see if Amakusa was alright as well. And that's when she could see he was only hanging onto the wall with one hand. It seemed so fragile and vulnerable, like it could break off any moment and send both of them towards their deaths. ... Was that how it would end, then..? How Bernkastel wanted it all along, with the two of them dying like this without a chance for a happy ending?

... No, she didn't want that. And so far the only chance she could see for this to still end in some good way was.. ... ah..

It was her fault he was dragged in, so.. she should at least try to save him too in return, right..?

"Amakusa.." She closed her eyes, letting out a shout. "Just let go of me..!" It wasn't a direct order though, much more just a desperate shout. "If you don't have to hold on to me, you could easily climb up, right? You can get out!" Even if that meant that she would die.. well, if they didn't have a chance at happiness anymore, then she might as well try to give him his chance all the same, even at the expense of her life.

She couldn't help but have that self-sacrificing nature, quickly throwing her life away for someone else she cared about enough - it was little different from what she did at the end of the fourth game, after all. Even though she would have been able to stay with her brother forever if she would just keep the game going, instead she tried to end it by sacrificing her own life. As long as her brother would live because of it, that was alright. Even if she would never see him again. And if she had done that for her older brother, it was only natural that she was willing to do the same for the man she loved, master and furniture relationships aside.

Ange could feel herself being lifted up though. She hadn't expected that, not even with Amakusa's enhanced strength, so for a moment she looked surprised. But the moment she was brought over the ledge she did quickly and obediently do as she was told, quickly holding on to it. And it was alright even with her being tired. She wasn't going to let go of this if she could help it, no matter how tired she was.

Even as she was holding on there, though, she peeked over her shoulder to see how he was doing.
